The Peter Stuyvesant Ball is an annual elegant and festive black tie event, at which the NAF Patrons, HRH Princess Margriet and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, diplomatic envoys, influential leaders and friends of the Dutch-American community from both sides of the pond gather in support of the NAFs crucial and vital activities. This year's theme is "Go Green", encouraging and celebrating Global Sustainable Development and Innovation. During the evening KLM will present its annual "Sustainability and Design" award to Floris Buisman, NAF Cultural Grant recipient and expert in high performance building materials and Passive House construction (ultra-low energy buildings); the entertainment is by Amsterdam Pasta Divas; and the Dutch DJ Jaziah will be spinning at our popular post-event Nightclub at Freddy's Heineken Bar.  The dress code is Black Tie, to which you may want to add a touch of green.  An exciting silent auction will be held.

The Peter Stuyvesant Ball is the single largest source of funding for the NAF, the foremost bilateral foundation initiating and supporting high-impact exchanges between the Netherlands and the United States.

Your participation in the event will support our commitment to two important programs of the NAF:

  • Education through the NAF-Fulbright Fellowships awarded to highly talented Dutch and American students pursuing graduate level studies at universities in each others' countries.
  • Culture through grants to emerging and established visual and performing artists, architects and designers, writers, historians, translators and for historic preservation, to increase the exchange of talent between the U.S. and the Netherlands.

This black tie event begins with cocktails at 7:00 pm, followed by a dinner and dancing at 8:15 pm culminating with the nightclub "Freddy's Bar" hosted by Heineken USA.  (Entry included in fully paid Ball Tickets)

Tickets to attend Freddy's Bar Nightclub only, from 11:30 PM to 1:30 AM featuring Dutch DJ Jaziah, can be purchased separately. Coat and Tie required. (No entry without reservation).
