Soekarno-Hatta Airport train expected to be operational by July 2017

The railway service connecting Jakarta to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten Province, should be complete and fully operational by July 2017, President Director of PT Railink Heru Kuswanto said here Monday.(7/11). The service will provide 124 trips per day, with each train consisting of 10 coaches capable of transporting 274 passengers per trip. It is expected to run every 15 minutes to transport a total of 33,976 passengers per day, Kuswanto said.

Indonesian Manufacturing Falls Back in October: Survey

Indonesia's manufacturing industry contracted in October as falling order led businesses to lower output, scale down input buying levels and cut back on employment, a Nikkei Indonesia Manufacturing purchasing managers' index survey revealed. The index, abbreviated as PMI, is a composite reading of manufacturing output, new orders, exports and employment measures and gives a snapshot of manufacturing business condition. It dropped to 48.7 in October, from 50.9 in September.

Govt Issues 14th Policy Package to Facilitate E-commerce

The Indonesian government on Thursday (10/11) announced the 14th economic policy package that carries a roadmap for the development of e-commerce industry in the country. "The policy package is aimed at encouraging people all over Indonesia to expand their economic activities efficiently and to connect them to the rest of the world. With this roadmap, they will be able to enhance their business in a better way," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution said while announcing the package at the Presidential Office, along with Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
