Director General to Impose High Tax on Beef Cartel Practice

Director General of Tax Ken Dwijugiasteadi said that his directorate will impose high taxes for businesses suspected to be involved in imported beef cartel practices. Ken said that the Directorate is currently investigating around 82 business suspected to take part in cartel practices. "Why meat are expensive? Actually, the meat is owned by the same people, but they open branches and distribution centers everywhere," Ken said during a press conference on Thursday, March 2, 2017.

Ministry to scrap expiry date for SIUP, TDP

The Trade Ministry will soon introduce a regulation that will make business permits (SIUP) and registration certificates (TDP) valid indefinitely. "Hopefully in one or two weeks, we can come up with the regulation," Karyanto Suprih, the ministry's secretary-general, said on Friday (17/2). Business players in Indonesia currently have to renew the two licenses every five years, a procedure that is lengthy.

Embassy of the Netherlands in Indonesia calls for climate adaptation and mitigation proposals

Jakarta, 1 march 2017

The Royal Netherlands Embassy partners with the Dutch private finance challenge (www.MoMo4climate.org) for the 'MoMo challenge Indonesia 2017': a country wide competition of ideas how to attract private investment for mitigation or adaptation projects in Indonesia. The two most promising proposals of 2017 stand to win 25,000-Euro to further their business case.

MoMo4Climate is an initiative of IUCN Netherlands, ECN and the Dutch ministry of Foreign Affairs and was started to bring climate ideas and private climate finance together. The bridge to private finance is a good business case. The initiative tests the business cases presented with financial experts, offers advice and awards grant support to the most promising ideas. Today the first of three calls is launched for climate ideas in Indonesia. The panel of experts will meet in April to review the first round so please submit your idea before 15 april 2017 through our website
