Indonesia needs 113 million skilled workers

Indonesia would need 113 million skilled workers in 2030 to develop its potential to become the world's seventh largest economy, Manpower Minister M Hanif Dhakiri said. "It means that Indonesia needs to supply 3.7 million skilled workers per year," the minister stated at the ministry's apprenticeship program in Karawang, West Java, on Thursday (13/4). A research of McKinsley Global Institute (MGI) in 2016 showed that Indonesia would need 113 million skilled workers for developing the potential to become the world's seventh largest economy in 2030.

Indonesia, Denmark explore cooperation to develop wind power

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia is exploring cooperation with Denmark to develop the potential of harnessing wind power. "As Indonesia is an archipelagic country, it will spend significant amount of money to connect islands for the supply of energy, so it will be efficient to develop the potential of each region, including harnessing wind power," Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan stated here on Tuesday (2/5). During a meeting at the ministry, Jonan and Minister of Development Cooperation of Denmark Ulla Tornes also discussed the mapping of wind potential in Indonesia.
