Fay Hartog-Levin receives Royal Decoration

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Henne Schuwer presented NAF Board member and former US Ambassador Fay Hartog-Levin a royal decoration and inducted her as an officer into the Order of Orange Nassau for her longstanding commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship between the Netherlands and the United States. The 2018 NAF Ambassadors' Awards Dinner honored three distinguished business leaders on April 12, 2018 at the Willard InterContinental Hotel, Washington, DC.

These awards, established in 1991 and named after former U.S. Ambassadors to the Netherlands, recognize a person’s outstanding professional accomplishments in either the commercial, cultural or political field in the United States or the Netherlands, and individuals who have markedly served to strengthen relations between the two countries. The 2018 honorees were:

Marillyn Hewson, Chairman, President and CEO, Lockheed Martin
The Ambassador J. William Middendorf II Award

Stein Kruse, CEO, Holland America Group
The Ambassador C. Howard Wilkins, Jr. Award

Glen Hauenstein, President, Delta Air Lines
The Ambassador K. Terry Dornbush Award

Keynote for the evening was

Hank Meijer, Executive Chairman, Meijer, Inc.

The event was preceded by the Heineken Award and Lecture at noon, delivered by David Hyman of Netflix and hosted by the Netherlands Embassy and its Holland on the Hill program, a joint project of the Embassy, the NAF, the Congressional Caucus on the Netherlands and the Netherlands Business community.

The NAF Seeks a New Executive Director

After eleven years fulfilling her role as Executive Director of the NAF, Angela Molenaar is stepping down. The NAF is searching for candidates to fill the position. The candidate should be passionate about strengthening the relationship between the Netherlands and the United States through exchanges in the arts, sciences, education, business and public affairs, and be able to lead the NAF into its second century of service.
