Thanh Tam Bamboo Ecopark inaugurated in Thanh Hoa province

Vietnam sees rice export growth by year-end

Vietnam expects rice exports to regain strength by the end of the year after a brief lull, said Tran Van Cong, deputy director of the Agro Processing and Market Development Authority under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Over the first nine months of this year, Vietnam shipped 4.9 million tons of rice abroad, earning USD 2.5 billion, up 22% from the same period last year.

Government meeting highlights positive economic performance in 9 months

Standard Chartered: Vietnam's economy remains the fastest in ASEAN

Vietnam is likely to remain the fastest-growing ASEAN economy in 2018 and 2019, as in 2017, stated a new report released by Standard Chartered. The Vietnam Economic Times quoted the report, entitled "Vietnam - Fast, not furious, growth," by the British multinational banking and financial services company, forecasting robust GDP growth for Vietnam at 7% in 2018 and 6.9% next year, driven by strong FDI-supported electronics manufacturing and rising consumption.

Fruit and vegetable exports likely to hit USD 4 billion mark

Vietnam's fruit and vegetables exports may rake in USD 4 billion throughout 2018 according to experts, fulfilling the target previously set by the sector. The export value of fruit and vegetable products in September alone is estimated to be at USD 380 million, bringing the country's total export value up to USD 3.1 billion, a 17.1% increase compared to last year's corresponding period.
