<!doctype html> Reminiscing the Winsemius Awards 2022

With pride, happiness and gratitude we look back
at The Winsemius Awards 2022, May 19th.

Returning after a 3-year hiatus, with a reinvented, stronger concept and still committed to sustainability, the Winsemius Awards is the flagship business networking event of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. It is where the Dutch and Singapore business communities connect, whilst celebrating the strong ties between the two countries. The event is named after the late Dr. Albert Winsemius, Dutch economist and long-time Chief Economic Advisor to the Singapore Government from 1961 to 1984. As architect of Singapore's economic policies in the early days, Albert Winsemius and the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, developed close relations over the years. Their friendly relationship symbolizes the very close ties between Singapore and The Netherlands.

Honoring his father's legacy, Prof. Dr. Pieter Winsemius, travelled to Singapore with a number of his children and grandchildren to attend the Winsemius Awards and the long-awaited book launch of the biography of Dr. Albert Winsemius, by Professor Euston Quah.
We were proud to have Prof. Dr. Pieter Winsemius as keynote speaker to inspire us all with his speech titled 'You don't have to be mad to be world champion, but it helps', and it inspired me to embrace my inner madness as it is a success factor for innovation. Mr. Iswaran, minister-in-charge of trade relations, delivered a memorable video speech.

Three inspiring Guests of Honor - Prof. Dr. Pieter Winsemius, Ambassador Margriet Vonno and Professor Euston Quah - awarded the winners for their achievements:
The Community Impact Award - Arcadis
The Outstanding Business Achievement Award - WEnergy Global
The Red Orange Award - Vopak.
ADB-DutchCham is proud to be able to showcase these remarkable cases and congratulate the winners with their success. The reinvented Winsemius Awards concept ensured the Award nominees of three unbiased and diverse juries, that in its composition symbolizes the collaboration between Singapore and the Netherlands.

The Winsemius Awards are about the connection between Singapore and the Netherlands and about inspiration. Everything was designed to support just that. To create a live experience and valuable memory.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved who made this 6th edition a successful one: The Guests of Honor, the jury members, the nominees, my fellow Steering Committee members Hajo Provó Kluit, Juliette van der Burgt and Noor van Rozendaal,
Evelien Hooijman as sponsor-committee-turned-MC, Gina Provó Kluit, my fellow board members representing our Chamber on and off the stage, the executive team, SHIOK!, the indispensable volunteers, event manager Jowyn Tan, Joshua Heng of MJS Xperiental, the Ritz, and of course our sponsors.
