Voor de eerste keer is er een groot Koningsfeest in San Diego op zaterdag 27 april. Op initiatief van de organisatie, de Honorair Consul Henk Hanselaar en The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is er een grote Fundraiser waarvan alle opbrengsten naar de Nederlandse School gaan. We zijn hiervoor ontzettend dankbaar omdat we het geld hard nodig hebben. Dus HELP DE SCHOOL en bied op en/of koop fantastische deals (meer info hieronder). This time a special eNewsletter as we have a huge Fundraiser for the Dutch School of SoCal. For the first time there is a big King's Day Party in San Diego on Saturday April 27th. At the initiative of the organization, the Honorary Consul Henk Hanselaar and The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, there is an amazing Fundraiser during the Kings party of which the proceeds go to the Dutch School. So please help us out! Previewing the items at the event begins at 1pm on Saturday April 27th, with the main event running from 3 pm to 5pm. Proceeds will be used to improve classroom technology and purchase new books for the school library. | | | | PROMO MOVIE FROM OUR SCHOOL | | Voor het televisie programma "Wereldreis op Wielen" hebben we bezoek gehad van de Nederlandse televisie en de familie Gerritsen. For the Dutch television program "Wereldreis op Wielen" the Dutch television and the family Gerritsen came to our school and made an amazing promo video from the school. Check it out here for the English version | | Elke zaterdagochtend is er veel gezelligheid op de school, met ouders die koffie of thee drinken terwijl de kinderen les hebben. Mocht het u leuk vinden om Nederlands te praten en leuke Nederlanders en Belgen te ontmoeten, kom dan gezellig langs. Iedereen is van harte welkom voor een kop koffie. Laat het ons vooraf graag even weten als u komt via [email protected]. We zullen dan het adres en de koffietijden doorgeven omdat dit per school (Valley Village, Santa Ana, La Jolla) verschilt. Every Saturday day morning we have a lot of "gezelligheid" (fun) at the Dutch school with parents chatting while enjoying coffee and tea while their children are attending class. We hebben weer een geweldig team dit jaar op onze scholen dat elke zaterdag klaar staat voor onze 100 leerlingen in de leeftijd van 3 tot 14 jaar. In maart is de Nederlandse Onderwijsinspectie langs geweest (ze komen eens in de vier jaar) en deze zijn we weer heel goed doorgekomen. Ze waren onder de indruk van de tevredenheid, het enthousiasme en de inzet van de leerlingen, ouders, leerkrachten, directie en bestuur. De onderwijskwaliteit is goed en er is een goed en fijn pedagogisch klimaat voor de kinderen.
We have a fantastic teacher team again this school year. Every Saturday they teach our 100 students aged 3 - 14 years Dutch language and culture. In March we had a visit of the Dutch Inspection of Education (this happens once every 4 years). They were impressed with the satisfaction, the enthusiasm and commitment of the students, parents, teachers, board and direction.
